Riyue Bay Surf Resort

RIYUE BAY SURF RESORT is not just a hotel, but an entire complex for surfing enthusiasts, located in Riyue Bay (日月湾) in the city of Wanning. It is called "China's first surf-themed resort."
This is not only a place to stay, but a full-fledged water recreation center. The concept is built around an artificial wave pool, which allows surfing year-round, regardless of sea weather conditions. The project was created with the support of China Travel Service (CTS) and is positioned as a fashionable and modern space.
The heart of the resort is the Surf Park with the country's largest artificial wave pool. It uses professional equipment from the American company American Wave Machines (AWM).
-
The pool, with an area of 10,000 square metres, is capable of creating 23 types of waves ranging from 0.3 to 2.7 metres in height.
-
It is suitable both for beginners (soft and controlled waves) and for experienced surfers who want to hone their tricks in ideal conditions.
-
There is a surf school with professional instructors on site, and all necessary equipment can be rented.
The grounds include two hotels with different atmospheres:
-
Yuechao Surf Theme Hotel (樾潮冲浪主题酒店) — China's first surf-style hotel. The design is inspired by rocks and waves, and the atmosphere is sporty and energetic. It offers an excellent view of the wave pool.
-
Yuyue Designer Hotel (屿玥设计师酒店) — a calmer and more aesthetic option. This is a designer hotel with a minimalist interior, panoramic windows and a sense of privacy. It is perfect for those who want to relax after an active day.
Tip
If you are going not for surfing but simply for a holiday, it is better to choose the Yuyue hotel. It is located a little further from the noisy pool area, and it is quieter there. But if your goal is to surf from morning till night, feel free to book Yuechao — you will be in the center of the action.
The journey from the city of Sanya takes about an hour and a half. Access to the wave pool is paid separately. Prices depend on the type of wave and the length of the session (usually about 1 hour). There are "all-inclusive" packages with board rental and instructor services.
