Hainan Children's Camp – Highlights of the 2026 Season
Hainan — a tropical island with a comfortable climate and well-developed infrastructure — has long ceased to be just a beach destination. Today, it is one of the key hubs for educational tourism in Asia. If previously parents viewed trips with children solely as seaside vacations, now the demand has shifted towards combining leisure with genuine language and professional immersion.
Language camps in China are becoming increasingly popular among schoolchildren from other countries, and Hainan Island is the ideal place where learning can be combined with beach relaxation, fresh air, an abundance of fruit, and fascinating excursions.
In the height of the summer holidays, in July 2026, participants of the children's cultural and language camp entered the classrooms of the Aviation and Tourism College in Sanya. Twenty children from Russia flew to Hainan not just to sunbathe and swim — they came for deep immersion in the Chinese language and culture.
Over two weeks on the island, we saw how a system of language immersion works in an environment where Chinese ceases to be a school subject and becomes a working tool — for communicating with native-speaking teachers, completing case-based assignments, and solving everyday tasks.
Studies started from the first morning hours. 30 academic hours — and these were not boring lectures. The college teachers structured the classes in a quest format: situational dialogues, interactive games, live communication. Within just a few days, the children were not only ordering food in cafes on their own but also discussing the weather, freely communicating with teachers, and even trying to sing in Chinese.

Additionally, the program included preparation for HSK — with analysis of typical tasks and execution strategies. By the end of the program, each participant felt more confident. Many lost their fear of speaking, and some admitted that Chinese characters no longer seemed like an insurmountable barrier.
The educational program also included a cultural block — 15 hours. All masterclasses were conducted in Chinese with consecutive translation, which allowed participants not just to observe but to hear live speech, memorize new vocabulary, and get accustomed to the sound of the language outside the classroom.
The children mastered the tea ceremony: they learned about the types and properties of tea and studied the traditional brewing stages. "It's like magic," shares Luiza. "During the ceremony, you can't move — it's a whole ritual that calms you down and sets you up for inner dialogue."

Tai Chi Chuan. Today, this practice is known worldwide as an effective health-promoting exercise. Our children learned to find balance, repeating the instructor's smooth movements — and even those who were skeptical about "slow" practices admitted they felt a surge of energy.

Particular delight was caused by the bamboo pole dance — a traditional pastime of Hainan's peoples. Music played, poles rhythmically clacked, laughter and applause rang out. The spectacle was so mesmerizing that students and teachers from neighboring classrooms came over to watch.

And — a breath of futurism. Since the camp was based at the Aviation and Tourism College, the organizers prepared a real aviation program for the children: a tour of the hangar with the opportunity to look inside aircraft and study their structure.
Exciting adventures also awaited the participants outside the classrooms. The weekend program turned into a real excursion marathon.
Luhuitou Park ("The Deer Turned Its Head") — a legendary spot with panoramic views of the sea. The children listened intently to the story of a young hunter and a beautiful maiden turned into a deer. The observation deck at the top offered a view of Sanya so picturesque that the photo session lasted two hours. "Every shot is like a postcard," shares Darya.

Yanoda Park — a tropical paradise with a cable car. The children soared above the treetops, enjoying the views of waterfalls and green hills. The glass bridge — transparent as ice underfoot — with a chasm below. "At first it was a bit scary, but then we started taking photos and selfies," recalls Kristina. A mini-zoo, an orchid garden, a sudden tropical downpour — everyone tried to capture these moments on camera.

Studying and excursions are, of course, the main components of the program, but teenagers will be teenagers. During their free hours, the children happily went to the pool or headed to the beach to cool off after intense study days.

Shopping was also not overlooked: in one of Sanya's large shopping centers, they found both favorite global clothing and footwear brands and colorful souvenir shops. They stocked up on everything they wanted to take home as keepsakes.
Rest and study were so harmoniously balanced that no one felt overloaded. Time flew by unnoticed — two weeks on Hainan turned into one intense and vibrant moment.
Closing Ceremony — in Chinese
On the morning of July 10, at the closing ceremony, each participant came to the board and delivered a speech in Chinese. The children talked about themselves, their families, what they love, and what they are passionate about. And some already promised to return to Hainan again next winter!

"I will definitely come back. I want to come in winter and really hope our Chinese curators will be with us again — they're awesome," shared David.

Thank You, Hainan!
The participants' reviews were full of emotion. And the chaperones who traveled with the group wrote in their letter: "Huge thanks for the well-thought-out cultural program — it was a true immersion in the language and traditions. It was an unforgettable trip!"

Ahead — Winter and a New Summer on Hainan
A group is currently being formed for the winter language camp on Hainan, and the next summer session for 2027 is already being planned. Here, the Chinese language is not studied from textbooks in isolation from reality, but in an environment as close as possible to future professional activities.
The program will be useful for schoolchildren aged 11–16 who want to improve their Chinese, overcome the language barrier, get to know Chinese culture from the inside, or take the first step toward entering a Chinese educational institution. For those seriously considering China as a destination for education and a future career, this is an opportunity to combine business with pleasure and spend their holidays to maximum effect.

Follow the announcements on our website seaviewhainan.ru and on social media — spots for the winter session are limited, and demand for educational camps on Hainan is growing every year. See you on the island!
