Our in-depth look at The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort

Imagine a place where the endless sea meets a grove of coconut palms. Here, luxury isn't about stiff formality — it's a relaxed, premium-class lifestyle.

Welcome to The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort — a place that changes your idea of the perfect Hainan vacation!

The hotel is located on the legendary Haitang Bay, often called the "golden coast" of Sanya. This is one of the most prestigious resort areas on the island, famous for its white-sand beaches and crystal-clear water.

A key advantage of the hotel's location — just a three-minute walk through a dedicated crossing — is the world's largest duty-free shop, the Sanya Duty Free City. For avid shopaholics, this is pure paradise. However, the Westin itself is not just a hotel attached to a shopping mall; it's a full-fledged adventure that will make you want to return again and again.

Let's explore the hotel's best spots, which make it truly unique.

Overture

The Lobby – The First Encounter

Entering the Westin Haitang Bay Sanya, you immediately feel like a special guest. Thanks to the open architecture, the sea breeze, sunlight, and the rustle of palm fronds flow freely inside — creating the complete illusion that nature and service exist in perfect harmony.

And if you're lucky, your first appearance at the hotel will be accompanied by the gentle melodies of a live harp — this exquisite touch instantly immerses you in a premium atmosphere and sets a uniquely refined tone for your vacation.

This isn't just a reception — it's the overture to your entire holiday.

Personal butler services are available here — they'll offer recommendations, arrange any assistance, and make your stay as comfortable as possible. And don't worry about the language barrier – service is provided in English.

Following the overture in this tropical symphony comes…

Act Two – Activities and Water!

Morning Yoga

The sea at Haitang Bay does not tolerate indifference — it's slightly wild, with a soothing roar of waves. Yes, swimming isn't always possible here. But listening to it, breathing it in, contemplating it — that is true pleasure. Especially at dawn. And morning yoga to the sound of the surf is something beyond words.

At Westin, they believe a vacation is a time to restore energy. The perfect morning starts with yoga on the lawn by the beach.

A professional instructor, the sounds of the waves, the whisper of the palms — and all of this is completely free for guests according to the hotel's schedule.

Activities: Gym and River Pool

The most athletic guests can head to the gym after breakfast. The WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio is equipped with state-of-the-art machines. You'll have access to cardio equipment, weight blocks, and yoga and stretching gear.

However, the hotel's main physical attraction is its pools. A grand complex of 12,000 square meters — a true labyrinth of water and greenery. The most spectacular is the long pool that meanders through the entire property like a river. You can paddleboard on it — standing on a board — or lazily drift on a boat in the shade of the palms.

It's like exploring a tropical rainforest — you feel like you're floating down a jungle river! Fun and highly photogenic.

The main pool area is also impressive in size! Here you'll find both classic loungers and glamorous cabanas — secluded corners with flowing white curtains, perfect for hiding from the midday sun.

Next to the main pool is a kids' area with a water slide, sprayers, and beloved children's water games.

Speaking of kids' areas…

Kids' Club

At the Westin Haitang Bay Sanya, the children's space is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail! Everything is provided for young guests: the outdoor playground offers plenty of climbing, sliding, and swinging. Inside the activity rooms, there are numerous creative pursuits — children can make handcrafts, bake their first gingerbread cookies, create dolls and toys. If the day is too hot, there's a large air-conditioned space for kids — with arcade games and other electronic entertainment.

While your children are playing and learning new things, it's time for you to relax a little!

Infinity Pool and Cabanas: Aesthetics for Every Taste

We've already mentioned the classic large pool with loungers and even cabanas where you'll feel like true royalty amidst this exquisite tropical abundance.

But if you're looking for the best spot for photos and pure delight, head up to the roof. The Upper Room features an infinity edge where the water merges with the boundless sea. This place is incredibly aesthetic and perfect for relaxed swimming.

By day, it's an ideal spot for Afternoon Tea and peaceful relaxation. By the way, this is a wonderful option for a bachelorette party or even a bridal morning — light bites, champagne, and a sea view set the perfect romantic mood. And photos from here will definitely blow up your social media!

In the evening, the Upper Room Restaurant & Bar transforms into a magical place! Incredible lighting, live music, and an enchanting atmosphere!

Bathed in starlight, the rooftop bar becomes a cozy spot for socializing, serving cocktails inspired by the history of the Maritime Silk Road.

Act Three – A Gastronomic Interlude

Breakfast

After morning yoga and stretching, it's time to head to the hotel's restaurant for the breakfast buffet.

Here, food becomes a little adventure. For foreign guests, a special surprise: the oatmeal here is real, thick, and hearty. None of that translucent broth often passed off as porridge in Asia.

And then — a true fruit paradise: mountains of mango, dragon fruit, pineapple. The freshest pastries, made-to-order omelets, several types of coffee, and freshly squeezed juices — everyone will find a breakfast to their liking.

Brunch at Mai Restaurant

After swimming, come down from the roof to the hotel's second floor for a late breakfast!

At Mai Restaurant — you can have a wonderful lunch by choosing a set number of dishes from the menu, and there's also a small but varied buffet. This is a great spot for a leisurely Sunday meal: the restaurant specializes in modern Japanese cuisine with an emphasis on fresh local seafood, and the windows and open terrace offer a picturesque view of the hotel's tropical gardens.

Best to finish brunch with a glass of chilled sparkling wine — it perfectly complements the light Japanese flavors and creates a truly relaxed mood. Especially since allowing yourself a glass of champagne during a lunch break in the tropics is a special little pleasure.

Let's go admire the sea: Sea La Vi

At Haitang Bay, the sea is perhaps the most picturesque. Yes, you often can't swim here (it's only allowed during the short summer season when the sea is calmer), but this has wonderful advantages! For example, this is a bay where you can walk along the shore and enjoy the roar of the waves in solitude, without crowds of people lying about. This is where the sea is truly beautiful — with waves and a noisy surf, which helps you relax and relieve anxiety.

And right by the sand, at the Sea La Vi Beach Club & Bar, you can enjoy the sea view without a massive number of bathers and contemplate all the shades of azure and sky blue!

Sea La Vi Beach Club & Bar is perhaps the most atmospheric spot in the hotel. Snow-white loungers and luxurious cabanas with flowing white fabrics stand right on the shore. The view from here is mesmerizing: the sea, the palms, and the sky.

It's perfect to lie here during the day under an umbrella, sipping a fresh coconut or an exquisite cocktail.

This place is made for lazy doing-nothing and beautiful reflections of the sunset.

Evening Revelry: Barbecue, Live Music, and a Water Show!

After a hot day, wherever you've spent it — walking along the sea or enjoying a boat ride in the pool — it's time for dinner. And only at the Westin Haitang Bay does every dinner feel like a spectacular celebration!

The Splash restaurant hosts an outdoor barbecue right by the pool. Everything goes on the grill: from shrimp and lobsters to succulent meat and vegetables. The atmosphere is set by live music — a band playing light hits while you enjoy a huge variety of dishes and watch the stars light up over the sea. There's even an area with sand underfoot for complete immersion in the tropical experience!

And for a festive mood, a sparkling show awaits you right in the pool — a flying flyboard. A performance of water spray, fireworks sparks, and gleaming garlands!

On some day of your stay, you might crave a quiet, peaceful dinner, and the hotel invites you to…

Five Senses Restaurant

At the Five Senses restaurant, they serve authentic Cantonese cuisine, as well as gastronomic masterpieces from other Chinese provinces. This is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the country you've traveled to. Here you'll understand that Chinese food isn't necessarily spicy. Chinese cuisine offers a vast diversity of flavors: from very restrained and delicate to sweetish and vividly spicy. And you can discover all this diversity at the Five Senses restaurant — a place where traditions meet gastronomic pleasure.

The Final Chord – Our Verdict:

Westin Haitang Bay is a place where you never need to rush. Here you can paddleboard along the "river", drink champagne on the roof, eat real oatmeal in the morning, and dance to live music in the evening.

The sounds of the harp intertwine here with the birdsong and rustling palms. This is premium relaxation at an excellent price.

The hotel fully lives up to its status as one of the main stars of the city of Sanya.
